Polycom expands its range of Telepresence solutions

Polycom, Inc. has expanded it's Telepresence portfolio with three new immersive Polycom Telepresence ExperienceTM (TPXTM) solutions that provide an interactive visual communication and content collaboration experience enabling people to work together more effectively, productively and naturally across distances.

Attendees of InfoComm, NXTcomm and Educomm, taking place this week in Las Vegas will be able to experience live demonstrations of 1080p video capabilities scheduled for delivery in 2008 at Polycom Booth No. N6019. Polycom plans to extend its telepresence portfolio to support 1080p resolution to meet customer applications requiring the highest clarity of video and content.

The Polycom TPX series offers comprehensive solutions designed to make people feel like they are sitting across the table from coworkers, partners and customers residing in other locations. The same-room experience is made possible through High Definition video displayed in lifelike proportions, crystal-clear High Definition directional, and leading high definition content-sharing capabilities.

The new Polycom TPX 306M with content on the table is a three-screen solution for medium and large environments accommodating up to six people on camera in each location. It features personal, pop-up content displays embedded within the table, making content collaboration natural and effective during meetings.

The Polycom TPX 204M is a new two-screen solution for small and medium conference environments accommodating up to four people in each location, and the TPX 102M is a single-screen solution for small meeting environment and offices accommodating up to two people at each location.

In addition to TPX, the Polycom telepresence portfolio includes the Polycom RealPresence™ Experience (RPX™) series, the industry’s only complete room-within-a-room telepresence environments. The Polycom RPX line supports up to 28 people on camera in each location, allowing for corporate meetings as well as higher capacity applications, such as interactive training centers, cross-continental classrooms, telemedicine studios and more.

The Polycom RPX and TPX immersive telepresence solutions offer controlled symmetrically designed environments that deliver a consistent, life-like experience. 

Polycom also offers a complete line of flexible room telepresence solutions under its HDX telepresence line, which includes options for small, medium and large groups, as well as integrated room environments, and the HDX 4000™ personal telepresence systems for executive desktops and offices.

All Polycom telepresence solutions are based on industry-leading, standards-based technology and interoperate at the highest possible quality levels with the large installed base of more than 1.5 million standards-based video conferencing systems in use today (including HD systems).
